I read in the paper yesterday, that 18 children have been killed at or just outside of school since August.

Most of these seem to have been shootings.

Why these deaths haven't been headline news all along, I'll never understand. Perhaps we're just getting used to the increase of violence in society, and figure it's come out of nowhere, so there is no way to fix it?

The article was talking about getting children psychiatric health. Except that 100 years ago kids weren't getting psychiatric treatment, and they weren't doing this. Lack of psychiatry does NOT cause violence.

After Hurricane Andrew hit the Miami area, the Dade County school system hired 80 additional "mental health professionals". Strangely, after these "helpers" came on board, there was a rash of suicide attempts amongst 10 & 11 year olds. Blamed, of course, on the hurricane. But since when do hurricanes cause children to kill themselves?!? The only case of it I've ever heard of, was when the kids had all this "treatment."

In truth, a very high percentage of teens who go on killing sprees are actually ON psychiatric drugs as part of their "treatment" at the time that they go out and murder their friends and family.

The psychiatrists say, "we didn't get to him soon enough. We need more money so we can reach more children, and prevent this sort of thing from happening again." But they DID "reach" these kids. It's the kids they've touched that turn bad like this.

It's not that psychiatrists don't cure anybody - I don't take issue with that, although as a taxpayer, I probably should. But my real beef is that they turn normal people into homicidal maniacs.

In the UK, psychiatric drugs Effexor and Paxil are ILLEGAL to give to people under 18, for the simple reason that it's now been proven that these drugs CAUSE people to become suicidal and homicidal. In the U.S. they are still legal, because we're a little more rugged here and enjoy watching a good news story.

Either that, or because the psychopharmaceuticals simply have conned the American public and are pouring immense sums of money into their lobbying efforts.
