Wow! A cure for fighting children!

My 8 year old daughter and 10 year old son were having a rough day - really pushing each other's buttons.

My son was telling me about his Animorph's book that he just read - these are fairly long books, a couple hundred pages.

I asked him if he'd read it to his little sister -- he was happy to, and she was happy to hear it.

They sat in a corner and he read and she listened for 2 hours!

And then they didn't fight anymore after that.

Another benefit of his reading aloud to her, was that he spotted words that he didn't know the meaning of, but that he didn't catch the first time through. So, they got those words defined and their vocabularies have grown, and they were friends.

And mom learned a new trick to helping kids get along!
