One more reason why I wouldn't send my children to public school:

Silent Lunch.

Punishing children for things like not bringing back a signed note from the parent - I feel very, very sorry for those children whose parents are alcoholic or simply disorganized - and who might fail to bring in notes because their parents fail to sign them!
